FAQ
Q. What are these things?
A. For the past three years, I have worked at Planet Records, an independent used record shop in Harvard Square. To save space (and to thwart people who steal music the old-fashioned way), we keep the CDs behind the counter, and put the covers out in the racks. If the CD is sealed, or else doesn’t have a removable booklet, we have to write down its information on a Post-It note and stick it on a plastic square. This, naturally, lends itself to creativity. What we have here are some of my favorite cards that I’ve made over the years and managed to rescue after they’ve sold.
Q. Haven’t I seen these somewhere before?
A. Quite possibly. I’ve cultivated a Flickr of my work for a couple of years now, and a few of those have made the cyber-rounds. That, or you’ve been to the store.
Q. Where is this wonderful store?
A. Planet Records is located in Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. We are located at 144 Mt. Auburn St.— just past the post office, and next to Darwin’s. We’ve got vast amounts of titles across all genres of music, on both LP and CD. Stop by sometime to see hundreds more cards, by myself and my talented record store brethren. That, and, you know, to BUY MUSIC.
